They’re One in a Million
Florida School Purchases the One Millionth Book Cover
In September of 2006, Lisa Pockrus, media specialist, from Three Oaks Elementary School in Ft. Myers, Florida purchased the 1,000,000th book cover from Lintor Create-A-Book, representing a million proud, published authors for the company. In celebration, Lintor donated 500 book covers to the school during an official ceremony and presented the school with a certificate stating that Three Oaks School is truly, “One in A Million!”
Ms. Pockrus purchased the books as part of a secret tribute to the school’s principal, Dr. Vivian Posey. Dr. Posey had been principal at Three Oaks for more than 10 years and was leaving the following month to take a faculty position in the teacher education program at Barry Univeristy.
"Dr. Posey always loved to have the children come to her office to read the stories they had written,” said Ms. Pockrus, “so we asked them to write their parting thoughts of Dr. Posey for publication in Lintor book covers.” As a result, 18 volumes of tributes were published. Ms. Pockrus added, “The tribute to Dr. Posey continues with this gift of 500 book covers. We’re all so thrilled and excited!”
